The Challenge
Canby Ford was looking for a web site that was innovative, but reflects their national brand and local community. Canby Ford was looking for a web site that was innovative, but reflects their national brand and local community. According to their analytics, their customers were mostly searching for both New, and Used Trucks, and SUVs which the design needs to be simple, and bold. They were interested inone interface for managing their whole inventory including imports, as well asa variety of exports like CARs.com, AutoTrader, and Cargigi.
How might we provide Canby Ford users with an intuitive and frictionless car search experience?

How can Canby Ford use one interface to manage their car inventory?
Personas
With the information from the interviews, I started narrowing down the scope of the project, creating a proto-persona. That ensured the further design decisions stayed user-centric.
User Flow
Once we had received the feature requirements from the client responsible for this site we mapped potential user flows.  We began with our proprietary VehicleTools (VMS) as a container for the client’s inventory. We reviewed different options for displaying their inventory based on Vintage,Price, Internet Special Price, Make, Model, and Trim. We explored two early user flow iterations before arriving at the user flow used in the prototype.Customer feedback was to make the inventory very accessible from the Service,Parts, and Service sections. They also on the home screen wanted emphasize space for New, Used, and Internet Specials. We identified 26 locations to search inventory and presented a flow using   our customer example site. The customer wanted to pass vehicle incentives, videos, CarFax, and assorted Third-Party venders.
Sketching
Once we have received the web site requirements from theclient, we flowed 2 iterations before arriving at the two early user user flowwe would base our prototype on. One of the sketch was too complicated and theclient selected the simpler solution.
